Career Opportunity – Research Positions in Neurodegenerative Diseases

Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI) is a national research institute within Hamad bin Khalifa University. As a national research institute, QBRI aims to improve and transform healthcare through innovation in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases affecting the Qatari population and the region. As a disease-focused institute, QBRI concentrates on applying integrative and multidisciplinary approaches to provide novel insights into the molecular basis of breast cancer, type-2 diabetes and neurological disorders, and the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to facilitate early diagnosis, treatment and management of these devastating diseases towards improving personalized medicine and healthcare.

Research Positions in Neurodegenerative Diseases

Several post-doctoral and research assistant positions are available in the laboratory of Prof. Omar El-Agnaf at QBRI. These positions will allow enthusiastic scientists to study the molecular mechanisms underlying the pathological process, and to develop novel therapeutics for Parkinson’s disease. The successful candidates should have extensive knowledge in the area of neuroscience, and the following techniques: protein chemistry, molecular and cellular biology, handling small animal, animal behavioral tests, brain tissue sectioning, immunohistochemistry methods and confocal microscopy.


PhD with at least 2 years experience or MSc. with 2 years of experience in Neuroscience field.
